The airport industry is reacting positively to a $1.5 trillion infrastructure bill introduced by House Democrats last week.
The “Moving Forward Act” would allocate $100 billion in transit, while at the same time attempting to reduce carbon pollution from the transportation sector. Airports would get a boost to infrastructure funding through the Airport Improvement Program fund. The bill is expected to be voted on in the U.S. House of Representatives before the group breaks for the Independence Day holiday. Nussbaum shared his thoughts on the weekly conference call discussing “survival and revival” of the concessions industry, hosted jointly by the Airport Restaurant & Retail Association (ARRA) and the Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC).
